SO I am finally coming to join the world a bit more these days. It is very difficult to find the right words lately. I usually am full of them. Since Mom passed away I got mainly nothing. My Love, Crocheting and a great support team is helping through my grief.
Seeing that I am basically wordless I will let you see that my April was full of yarny goodness

Tonight is the beginning of a busy weekend for me. I have errands to do tonite : ie grocery shopping and also in need of a new outfit for Sunday! Tomorrow is cleaning day and hoping to make a few more Comfort Pillows. Sunday early afternoon I have having my hair colored and highlighted. Sunday evening I am meeting with the Author Heather Wardell….btw if you do not already knows she is my FAVORITE author. This is so exciting as I get two hours with her at a local Starbucks. As far as I know it will be just the 2 of us!!!! Monday I go to obtain my enhanced drivers license…which will allow me to go to Ikea in Canada next Saturday!!!
I plan on posting pictures of my time with Heather next week. I don’t have any recent photos of myself in clothes that actually fit…so this is a great opportunity.

I had a very productive evening. I recut and actually completed this Wolf Blanket for my husband. Just in time too as it is suppose to get colder….again.
I made Garbanzo Bean soup this evening. It taste just like hummus. I am completely hooked. This could possibly bee my go to meal for when My Love is not home on Fridays. I had this made in just a half hour.
I also started a comfort pillow to give as a gift. Now I just need to give flaxseed to fill it so I can finish it up. I opted for flax seed as it holds heat longer than grain and will not give off a cooked grain odor after multiple uses.
Be good to yourself and enjoy life!

I have been quiet for a bit…never fail I am back! Life has been crazy lately and that nuttiness is finally dying down. This past week I made a quilted apron (picture will be posted as soon as I remember where the cable is for my camera…lol), lilac solid perfume, 2 kinds of cookies and have started brainstorming fundraising ideas.
More on the fundraising: My charity of choice is JDRF . My best friend,s youngest daughter was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 5 she is now 17. She asked us last spring if we could do the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Of course we all said yes. So we all scrambled to raise money in 6 weeks
. Well this year I am trying to get an early start however I am in a quandary: I am not very comfortable hounding people to donate but it is such a good cause. Last year I made Toddler Pillows and donated all the money I made toward the walk. This year I decided again that making something to sell would be the best option for me. Here is where I am stuck…I am thinking of such things as Potholders, Sunglasses case, Pattern Weights (which could double as bean bag toys for toddlers), Stethoscope covers. I thought that something unisex would be best but the question is what? I am open to suggestions.
My next sewing projects include coupon organizer, infinity scarf for my nephew’s fiancée, fleece pants for My Love. I am trying to teach myself to crochet, tatting, perfect the solid perfume making and recently joined my favorite author’s Street Team. Which reminds me that I plan on including book reviews/thoughts into my blog. Oops almost forgot I will be meeting my favorite author Heather Wardell this spring to say I am excited is putting it mildly. I will be posting my New Years Resolutions soon. Stay tuned to see what fun things I have planned for 2014.
One more thing before I go. Today the mailman arrived with an unexpected package inside was a beautiful diamond ring I will also be picking up the Anniversary Band that My Love purchased for me in a matter of a few days. If there is interest I would be more than happy to share pictures of these gorgeous rings with you…just let me know!

I am currently creating in the kitchen. It is snowy, windy and cold today. Looking for some comfort food but want it to be healthy. I am experimenting with a corn and black bean salsa, chicken and brown rice. Will know in an hour if it is something that could be deemed eatable.
Just made an Iced Moroccan Mint Tea sweetened with Honey Beads. anxiously awaiting it to cool.
Update: My dinner last night turned out amazing. I followed Alton Brown’s Baked Brown Rice Recipe http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/baked-brown-rice-recipe/index.html I LOVE this rice. As soon as My Love saw the final dish he asked me if I thought I was Chipotle. This made me laugh as I do love their rice bowls and I always get their brown rice , black beans and pork but this was a close 2nd. I will definitely make this in the future. I would at a bit more of the salsa next time. I will post the recipe soon as I enjoyed it so much that I want to share.

On 8/30/2013 I went to see Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo @ Buffalo Place Rocks Canalside.
The venue was great. Neil sure knows how to play the shit out of a guitar. Pat and Neil were amazing. So much fun. Took me right back to the 80’s.
Thought I would post this awesome picture that was taken that night. Kathryn is in the Cocoa Cola shirt, I am in the middle and Gina is wearing the sunglasses.
