I have been rather busy of late.

This fall some friends turned me on to the show Dexter and all I can say is how much My Love and I have enjoyed this series. We have just finished season 7. It is kinda sad as we will be starting the last season shortly. Its totally okay to be obsessed with a serial killer right!? This shirt was a Christmas gift from one of my friends….LOVING  IT!

!I became completely obsessed with crocheting. All of a sudden I noticed I had a stash of infinity scarves and cowls. Of which I would never wear. So I contacted a local organization and donated the mentioned items in addition to a couple pair of fingerless mittens and hats. It felt amazing to be able to help in this small way.

I finally found the time and opportunity to try Yoga. It was a-w-e-s-o-m-e. I now want to incorporate it into my life. I am so looking forward to taking a workshop on Saturday. I have purchased my first mat and am looking forward to finding and enhancing my inner light. I am so thankful when I can shop/spend  with local small business. This studio just celebrated their 1st year in business. I would totally recommend them to anyone that asks: I was able to attend some of their Winter Solstice Celebration. It was a definite learning and educating experience. I learned that I am not interested in kirtan. I am however more interested in Vinyasa Flow.

In November we celebrated our 20th Anniversary. We went on a road trip to We had an great time. It was so much fun exploring and letting the kid in ourselves out.

I am looking forward to what the future holds and all the new and fun experiences ahead of me. Speaking of which I was very fortunate this holiday season to have received gifts that feed my creative side. A friend gave me the gift of learning by giving me a book, yarn and a handitool so that I can learn to knit. How much fun is that going to be.

Recently I came to the realization that I miss how I use to read and write poetry. Well I am intending on changing that and will be sharing here when the mood strikes me. On that note:

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost:

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
It is my goal to blog at least once a month….hopefully more but if not that is okay by me. I finally feel like I am living life!! it feels great!

Crochet Progress

I started working on my hdc. This project is using both hdc and sc

7.5.14 Update: I frogged this last night. It was a practice piece and the more I looked at it and worked on it the more I realize I do not like hdc at this time. I have moved on to another stitch.

As you know I am taking a writing for the web class. It has brought to my attention some changes I need to make on my blog. I will be playing around with it for about the next week or so.

As you may know I have been teaching myself to crochet. It has been going fairly well. I have learned from my mistakes. I no longer crochet everything in a circle. I am now able to do rows. Today I learned the importance of counting stitches. It’s there a such item as a stitch counter to help me keep track?

Last night I attended my first knitting and crocheting Meetup. It was a fun time. It was a designated learning night. That was a big reason I went but….sadly for me everyone else In attendance was a knitter. The ladies in attendance seemed surprised in what I had learned in a week. In fact a couple ladies thought I had been doing it for some time as I looked like I knew what I was doing. I confessed I was feeling like I knew what I was doing….lol. I will definitely attend this Meetup again. The time and location for perfectly into my life and I love that they meet weekly.
I actually had a total of 6 rows done on the fingerless mittens until…..It was brought to my attention that I was skipping the last stitch in some of the rows so I will begin again this evening. I am okay with that too as I am still learning.
Hoping to post a picture again soon.

I decided moments ago on what my 1st project is to be. I am going to make a pair of hand warmers. I ran into this idea  by looking at Purl Bee’s website:

This week I taught myself how to do a foundation chain and how to single crochet. I have to admit I am pretty darn impressed with myself. I am planning on starting this project tonight. Now to go upstairs and see what kind of yarn I have in the house.

So now that I am getting into crocheting I was wondering where you buy your yarn at. I have a JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby nearby. I was considering looking online but that could be a tad overwhelming so that is why I am asking.

How awesome I have followers already and am still clueless. Guess I will have to spend some quality time learning about blogging now that I have an audience.
